Bird's Flight II - Hand-Cut from Painted Paper

Group exhibition with Wiebren Arema, Frans Beelen, Marianne Bijker, Ina Fekken, Marijk Gerritsma, MW Goldjebloum, Frank de Leeuw, Helga Mast, Marion Mencke, Stefanie Ottens, Rika Post, Erica Scheper, Herman Schlooz, and Petra van der Steen.

Featuring drawings, paintings, paper, textiles, embroidery, graphics, photography, ceramics, jewelry, and mixed media.

Through a previous exhibition at Goldjebloum, I rediscovered my earlier hand-cut works. The two now on display have not previously been on display in the church.

They are titled "Bird's Flight."

Bird's flight is one of the most complex forms of locomotion in the animal kingdom. I made by hand a papercut# fantasy of these movements. These works date from the period when I transitioned from painting to working with paper. These days, I cut with a laser. This allows me to create large paper installations as well as small, delicate works.

The church is open on Wednesday and Sunday afternoons from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
